The AWI exists as a common standard in our industry, we must always aim to make its reference unnecessary. Providing guidance and pace not only for ourselves, but for other firms as we LEAD. This way Contractors and customers will always trust our word above third parties.
Mission
Orion Manufacturing is dedicated to delivering the highest quality product within specification, using the most efficient labor and materials. Through a combination of craftsmanship and technological innovation, we strive to service our clients and users with honesty and transparency.
· Technology focused means we provide a naturally lean product with material forecasting. Less waste is cost savings passed to our customers, allowing us to profit as required with our labor in a transparent way with the shortest lead times.
· Craftsmanship focused provides the system of continual renewal and sustainability of our most important resource, our employees. Learning the craft, living the craft, and benefiting from the efforts of our work together allows us timeless prosperity. From an apprentice’s first day to a Journeyman’s final shift, craftsmanship is the celebration of our commitment.
Culture
Excellence in quality product cannot happen without an environment built upon the same. These 12 foundational characteristics define our ethos.
1.Conviction-When we move, we do so with purpose. This allows Orion to differentiate ourselves from our competition both in the field and in the shop. This standard is the backbone of efficiency and flexibility.
2.Consistency-Our customers engage our services to receive an excellent product that will last years beyond our warranty. To do this we must be our harshest critics, and work with architects and contractors to help guide them into our knowledge base with patience and humility as we execute quality control with the respect it requires.
3.Independance-We are here to build and learn. We will always strive to not overextend ourselves into subcontracting work within our scope.
4.Efficiency-Our future depends on our ability to compete, to do so Orion will always actively seek out the best methods of building, engineering, and operational systems.
5.Flexibility-Redundancy in the Office, Shop, and field. We deal with countless variables and our preparedness to deal with them starts with a flexible mindset able to execute objectives from a variety of perspectives.
6.Patience-Orion Manufacturing will always be a place for young people to feel welcome as they begin their journeys in building. To do so requires an environment of patience and encouragement to build the best habits that will service them professionally and personally as they develop.
7.Transparency- From the office to the shop floor. Information will always be delivered with the utmost emphasis on truth.
8.Honesty-We will always treat every failure as a learning experience, as such we must strive to identify failures and label them. As we get more and more refined in our skill and process this will forever be an important tool used to mitigate ego.
9.Confidence-An Orion employee can walk onto any jobsite with the safety training, skills, and humility to allow them the confidence to succeed. This will train our craftsmen in life as well as skilled workers to become skilled, important members of their respective communities.
10.Education-Orion must always strive to be on the leading edge of available technology and process, as such, we must always foster an environment of learning and development as a “top down” attitude.
11.Gratitude-In an industry known for it’s gruffness, we will separate ourselves from belligerence with compassion and thankfulness. We will always be grateful for the opportunity and space to work hard and with purpose.
